About the Role:

CrowdStrike is looking for a Network Engineer with a focus on Observability/NRE, who has a solid track record of building and operating hyper-scale hybrid cloud networks. In this role, you will build and maintain the systems and software responsible for network telemetry, monitoring, logging and alerting.  You will need a balanced set of skills in networks and systems with a focus on scaling and performance.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Build tools and monitoring systems that provide granular, real-time observability
  • Build and maintain a high-performance and fault-tolerant production network at-scale
  • Develop approaches and tools to automate the identification and remediation of network events
  • Work closely with engineering teams to better understand the network with a focus on optimizing network and application performance
  • Streamline the network monitoring pipeline through automation
  • Review operational metrics and traffic patterns to assert network capacity and availability
  • Improve the reliability and efficiency of network operations and practices

 

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with building and maintaining network monitoring and graphing tools, as well as streaming telemetry
  • 5+ years of experience in building and maintaining large scale, complex data center network infrastructure
  • 2+ years of programming experience in Python, Perl, Go or other scripting language
  • Experience with SNMP, Flow(Netflow, sFlow), API and telemetry technologies, and monitoring tools (DataDog, Icinga, New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, Telegraf)
  • Knowledge in large scale IP networking technologies and protocols such as: MP-BGP, OSPF, ISIS, VRF, VxLAN, EVPN, QoS, GRE, IP SEC, DNS, MACsec

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A strong track record of developing and improving tools, platforms, and infrastructure
  • Experience with network simulation and testing tools (NS-3, NetSim, Batfish, Ixia)
  • Production level experience supporting large scale network infrastructure
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Salt Stack, etc.)
  • Customer-focused mindset, with demonstrated skill in managing expectations, providing proactive status updates, and producing high-quality work products
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment

CrowdStrike, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For applicants in Colorado the salary range is $145,000 – $230,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. A candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, and certifications. The salary range may differ in other states.
