Description

System Partner, Anti-Racist Innovation – Future Opportunity

Location: Flexible within the United States

WHO WE ARE

Every student deserves opportunities in life, and every educator committed to providing those opportunities deserves support. Those beliefs drive us to work alongside schools to support great teaching so that we can work towards guaranteeing that all students are receiving high quality instruction. We partner with over 900 schools – both district and charter – in underserved communities around the country, thus impacting more than 330,000 students. Third-party evaluations confirm that when schools have the right basic conditions in place and partner with ANet, they achieve 6-8 months of additional learning over a two-year period compared to schools not partnering with ANet.

At ANet we are committed to living out our core values, both across our organization and with our partners. We acknowledge that systemic inequities impact student access to opportunities and that in order to ensure educational equity for all students, we must center on the experiences of those from marginalized communities to guide our work. We work to deepen our understanding of how race, class, power and privilege influence the education system as well as influence our own perspectives. To do so,  we provide ongoing learning opportunities through org-wide professional development, affinity groups, working groups, and resource sharing.

FUTURE OPPORTUNITY

As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we would like to begin engaging with candidates interested in our future System Partner, Anti-Racist Innovation opportunities. We aim to post new roles in late spring/early summer and will use your future opportunity application to follow up as those roles become available.  Should you have questions about the role or timeline, please email [email protected].

We seek to reimagine school as an environment where racial equity/racial healing, combined with instructional equity,  will improve student learning, student engagement and student sense of belonging.

We are seeking to create a dynamic and skilled team of anti-racist activists, consultants, researchers, and practioners with strong educational backgrounds that will support a cohort of schools and districts along their anti-racist journey.  This is a unique opportunity for an outcomes-driven racial equity educator to support school  systems in analyzing data, providing professional development, strategic planning and coaching to support leaders, teachers, parents and students.

Through our own journey to address racism within ANet over the last eight years, we put practices, structures and policies in place that led to systemic organizational change towards becoming an anti-racist organization. This work permeates every aspect of our organization including our partner work.

We have 16 years of deep experience working alongside hundreds of schools and districts to ensure all students have access to an excellent education. We help partners in underserved communities boost student learning with equitable teaching strategies built on the successful practice of educators around the country.

It’s the combination of our national track record for educational equity alongside our anti-racism learning and development–at both the individual and system-level–that uniquely positions us to work within complex systems to bring about racial justice.
