Responsibilities

    • Work as part of Agile team to continuously improve the web application’s quality
    • Owns the automation and performance testing frameworks and knows what to automate
    • Proficient in Manual testing and test techniques
    • Define test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures in accordance with project scope and delivery dates
    • Estimate and confirm testability efforts upfront with engineers during Sprint Planning and Grooming
    • Proactively report bugs, monitor resolution efforts and track successes.
    • Support root cause analysis and manage software defects effectively
    • Build quality dashboards and reports for various stakeholders
    • Take ownership and pride in the products we build and ensure they are of the highest standard
    • Be empathetic towards team members and customers
    • Follow, contribute and improve Adthena’s Engineering and Testing Practices

Minimum Qualifications

    • Work as part of an Agile team to achieve roadmap delivery of high quality products
    • Proactively pursue quality early in the Software and Test Life Cycle
    • Identify the scope of the testing required for a particular release based on the requirements and design
    • Continuously improve the web application by executing functional and non-functional tests
    • Define test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures in accordance with project scope or delivery dates.
    • Review stories and confirm that they are testable during Sprint Refinement sessions
    • Identify testing effort required by calculating the sizing needed for the given release and plan work
    • Proactively check for risks in achieving the release and work with teams to mitigate them
    • Support root cause analysis and manage software defects by proactively reporting defects to engineers
    • Build dashboards, reports for various stakeholders and instil confidence about the work being done
    • Take ownership and pride in the products we build and ensure they are of the highest standard
    • Identify and maintain tools for Test Reporting, Test Management, etc. and educate team on using them
    • Follow, contribute and improve Adthena’s Engineering and Testing Practices
    • Be empathetic towards team members and customers

Preferred qualifications

    • Commercial experience working with Web Engineers, as part of a Scrum team
    • Commercial experience doing manual testing on complex web applications
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong knowledge of testing techniques and modern tools (Jira, AIO Test, TestRail, Xray)
    • Solid knowledge and experience with SQL, NoSQL and data driven projects
    • Demonstrated experience of hands-on Issue and Defect Management

About the Application Team
Adthena’s Technology team is a market leader in developing Competitive Intelligence for AdTech Search. Our Application teams develop unparalleled technologies that help our clients understand their paid and organic search landscape and improve campaign performance. We are an empathetic group of engineers and testers making a career out of building great software for our customers.
As a Automation Test Engineer, you will be working across our entire web stack, so a real passion for quality of development, working closely with Engineers and Product Managers to ensure the best possible outcome, is something that we really value. You will have great attention to detail and will work cross-functionally to test and deliver user-centric solutions to our customers. You will proactively communicate by providing feedback/recommendations to engineers on software usability, functionality and performance. You add value by collaborating and improving engineering team’s test coverage, release velocity and production health.
Being a key member of the Application team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with other like-minded testers. Together you will continuously evolve our technology stack and and become an expert in implementing testing frameworks and managing testing platforms.
