Every day innocent people fall victim to bogus ‘get rich quick’ schemes and online job scams.
Last year alone, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission received almost 2500 reports of financial loss from employment scams, amounting to nearly $1-million.
That figure doesn’t include unreported cases, which are thought to be even more prevalent with victims often too embarrassed to speak out.
Scamwatch.gov.au reports most of these scams are conducted online, with scammers advertising jobs claiming to require little effort for high returns, or an up-front investment or purchase such as a starter kit.
People soon discover the offer was a false promise at best, but quite often have money stolen from them too by providing bank account or credit card details.
A lot of online jobs boards are littered with scam listings like these. Unfortunately, it has created a bad name for work from home in general, meaning a lot of people are missing out on genuine flexible career opportunities.
Remote Work Hub was created to combat online job scams, by providing screened and verified listings for genuine virtual jobs with real employers.
Our website does not allow listings from unverified sources or any ‘too good to be true’ offers. We also don’t accept advertising from party plans or multi-level marketing schemes.
We are adding new remote jobs to our database every day, and our own remote team works diligently to ensure every listing is an authentic, paying job.
Job listings on Remote Work Hub include full time and part time employment as well as freelance and contract roles. All of the jobs are advertised by real companies seeking remote staff. Some have a physical office and many are based in the cloud, but they are all seeking staff to work remotely.
Visitors can browse the range of jobs available, and members receive full access to view the complete job description, employer name and application link.
Remote Work Hub also provides expert advice and regular blog posts to support people in their remote careers.
